back on a beautiful late autumn day last year i was lucky enough to do a family portrait lifestyle shoot for this gorgeous family.  recently i delivered the colourful leather albums and classy white frames and i have just had a lovely thank you note from them – "a gorgeous afternoon in mid-november captured in beautiful photos. thank you again for your work gill"  - which just seemed like the perfect excuse to put my favourite shots from the shoot up for you to see ….

on a vraiment eu de la chance mercredi dernier !!!   il avait plu tous les jours depuis une semaine mais l’après midi de notre séance photo : grand ciel bleu et soleil d’automne… Bien entendu, on en a profité à fond !    myriam, ronan et leurs filles adorables voulaient des portraits de famille … et  …  je m’avance peut être un peu…  un prétexte idéal pour faire une bataille de feuilles et l’occasion rêvée pour chasser des bulles de savons !    on s’est beaucoup amusés et comme résultat, il y a des photos très sympas de la famille… merci les filles, vous avez été géniales, des vrais pros !!!    ci-après quelques unes de mes photos préférées…

how lucky were we with the weather last wednesday ?!!!   it had rained everyday for the previous week, it threw it down the next day but the afternoon of the shoot we had clear blue sky, autumn sunshine and a lot of fun.   myriam, ronan and their three gorgeous daughters wanted a family shoot, mainly as an excuse to have a leaf battle and bubble chasing afternoon i reckon… along with some cools shots of them all together.   they were great fun to be with and the girls were fantastic in front of the camera … naturals. here are a few of my favourites …

it was my first brilliant trip to the lake district to the Annabel Williams Studios to do the Big Picture course in june 2008  that really gave me the confidence to do photography full time – an amazing course and amazing models !  here’s a little retrospective ….

these are my favourites from the last shoot on my recent trip to staveley.   the course that day was the digital workshop, stewart randall patiently and brilliantly took us through digital workflow from setting up the camera, to the shoot itself, post editing  to printing – very useful and informative.  keisa, our model,  was fantastic and put up with all of us and the pouring rain – the heavens had literally opened !!

more photos from the brilliant course at the annabel william’s studio in staveley.  the beautiful sophie was brilliant – she spent the afternoon with us and quite happily posed and smiled on cue as 13 photographers took shots of her !     at one point she very bravely put up with the distinct odour of sheep for the best part of 20 minutes because the background was interesting … and that even though we were all standing out in the glorious fresh air !

this shoot was an adventure – we spent late sunday afternoon sneaking around a deserted industrial estate.  the colours and textures were amazing and laura was fantastic … leaning on rusty walls, sitting infront of mucky (but beautifully coloured) skips, and being gorgeous as well !

and then we found a small area of gorgeous poppy covered wasteland ….

a big thank you to the driver that hooted at us for this great smile !
