 C’est l’heure du Salon de la Mariée qui se deroulera sur Annecy du 22 au 23 octobre !      voici juste un petit rappel de pourquoi le salon est si magnifique – ces photos ont été prises pendant les défiles des années precedentes ….

it’s time for the Salon de la Mariée   which is on in Annecy this Saturday and Sunday ( 22nd & 23rd October) – here is a quick reminder of why this show is so gorgeous – these photos were taken during the beautiful catwalk shows over the last couple of years  …  enjoy !

i love the ‘Carnaval Vénitien‘ in Annecy – the costumes are so spectacular, so intricate and so colourful that photographing them is just brilliant !    this is the second year i have been along (see here & here ) – the carnaval starts on the friday evening with the ‘costumiers’ parading round the old medieval town of annecy in all their magnificence, then on the saturday and sunday hundreds of them take over the old town and the area down by the beautiful lake.  You can’t help but be amazed and seriously impressed by the amount of work that has gone into the creations which often take the whole year to prepare.  It was extra special this year as i knew some of the participants – though if i’m honest they recognised me rather than the other way round (possibly helped by the fact that i was accompanied by two little girls armed with cameras on their own mission to create "Volume Two" of their "Carnaval Masterpiece").

oh and the other reason it was special ……. it was the very first outing of my new camera !  hope you enjoy these shots ….

this year i’ve decided to include some other favourite shots i’ve taken that aren’t necessarily linked to lifestyle family portraits or the gorgeous weddings i’m lucky enough to be involved with. 

this beautiful cat is the most photo perfect model i’ve ever come across  – our cat here at home either runs off when she sees me armed with the camera, or with an amazing fighter pilot degree of accuracy manages to blink at the exact moment the shutter clicks !  not this beauty she positively posed for the shots !!!
