i am utterly convinced that this striking old dead tree was deliberately put in front of this stone wall and amazing view by some secret landscaping society especially for photographers !  it’s on the main road into windermere from kendal – a little bit of dodgy parking and gate climbing and i was rewarded by the sun breaking through the grey clouds to just highlight the silvery branches – beautiful !   a big thanks also to Andy Woodhouse who did the post edit work on the shot for me

more photos from the brilliant course at the annabel william’s studio in staveley.  the beautiful sophie was brilliant – she spent the afternoon with us and quite happily posed and smiled on cue as 13 photographers took shots of her !     at one point she very bravely put up with the distinct odour of sheep for the best part of 20 minutes because the background was interesting … and that even though we were all standing out in the glorious fresh air !
